UMAYYAD: bronze fals (4.55g), [Al-Andalus or North Africa], AH 100-130. Reverse "muhammadun 'abdullahi wa rasuluh" ("Muhammad, the slave of Allah and his messenger"). Walker-699. Extremely fine. Very rare, especially in such condition.
Unearthed in Spain. The style of the epigraph, especially evident in the obverse, hints at a mint location somewhere in North Africa, or perhaps even in Al-Andalus. Photographed examples usually appear to be in low condition, making the present specimen a very scarce and desirable representative of this rare type.
