Dawud Ibn Yazid Al-Muhallabi was appointed by Harun Al-Rashid as governor of Al-Sind. He proved to serve a very crucial role in reestablishing Abbasid influence over Al-Sind. In doing this, he laid siege to Al-Mansurah and defeated the anti-Abbasid rebels. This victory was followed by a series of victories, which helped him secure the rest of Al-Sind. He died after a long term as governor of Al-Sind, after which he was succeeded by his son, Bishr Ibn Dawud.
