Costa Rica Republica de Costa Rica 1 Colon 5.11.1902 Pick 141 PMG Very Fine 20. This rare, problem-free issued banknote is the first we have offered. At the time of cataloging, it is the only example graded in the PMG Population Report. Of importance, this is the first variety of the type, with a mostly uniface back. In 1905, a common back design is adopted for the 1 Colon and remaining denominations in the new series. Nevertheless, this first type is extremely rare, and only three issued banknotes have been auctioned in the past decade.
