Philippines Philippine Islands Treasury 500 Pesos 1918 Pick 67 PCGS Fine 15. The 1918 series of banknotes issued by the Government of the Philippine Islands is chock full of rare types, which is crowned with this highest denomination type. According to the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing, only 40,000 notes were printed for this date. As is often seen with Philippine notes of this era, there is some ink bleed from front to back due to tropical climate in which this note served. This example is only the second we have offered of this rare type, most of which were redeemed long ago, due to the enormous buying power of this denomination.
