Yugoslavia National Bank 10,000 Dinara 6.9.1936 Pick 34 PCGS Gold Shield Grading Choice AU 58. King Peter II was the last King of Yugoslavia, reigning from 1934 to 1945. Peter succeeded to the throne in 1934 after his father, King Alexander I was assassinated in France. His father's cousin served as regent until 1941 due to Peter's young age. In 1941 Peter was installed as King by the British after a coup d'etat because Regent Prince Paul had committed Yugoslavia to join the Axis Powers. King Peter II and the government ministers left the country after it was invaded in 1941, ultimately ending up in London. This note depicts King Peter II at about the age of 13. Given the very large format, it is a minor miracle that this note has come down to the present day in excellent condition. In September 2018, we sold a PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ example for $1,920. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/yugoslavia-national-bank-10-000-dinara-691936-pick-34-pcgs-gold-shield-grading-choice-au-58/a/4021-28412.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4021 HID08706262019 © 2019 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
