CYPRUS. Paphos. Stasandros (ca. 425-400 BC). AR stater (24mm, 10.83 gm, 3h). NGC MS 3/5 - 4/5. Bull standing left on beaded double line; winged solar disc above, ankh to left, all within dotted border / sa-ta-sa-do-ro pa-si (Cypriot script), eagle standing left; ankh to lower left, olive spring with berry to upper left, all within dotted square border in incuse square. BMC plate XXI coin 9 var. (no olive sprig). SNG Copenhagen 26 var. (same). Tziambazis 7 (same). The olive sprig in the upper left corner of the reverse die is clearly copied directly from the Athenian tetradrachms of the same era.
