João V gold 12800 Reis (Dobra) 1731/0-M MS62 PCGS, Minas Gerais mint, KM139, cf. LMB-287 (overdate unlisted), Bentes-103.10 (R1). A boldly overdated specimen struck from somewhat older dies, with traces of rust along the margins and several die flaws, most pronounced on the D in D.G. Notoriously difficult in Mint State, this is the second piece we have offered in this premier grade, the last bringing $9600 in our January New York Auction #3061 last year.
