Republic gold 8 Escudos 1841 QUITO-MV XF45 NGC, Quito mint, KM23.2. Small size type. The first year of this significantly rarer smaller size 8 Escudos, and quite a pleasing specimen for the grade at that, exhibiting only light wear and lightly toned surfaces. This issue was interestingly not present in the Eliasberg collection, making a clear target for Latin American gold collectors.
