Great Britain
William IV gold Specimen "Coronation" Medal 1831 SP62 PCGS, BHM-1475, Eimer-1251. 34mm. By William Wyon. Only 1203 examples of this medal were produced in gold, and of this low mintage 238 were subsequently melted leaving just 965 remaining. Besides some marks at William's chin and the usual hairlined fields, this piece is remarkably well-preserved for type in impressive near-choice. Always a popular coronation medal for Wyon's sensitive depictions of the King and Queen.
