Elizabeth II gold "Coronation" Medal 1953 MS62 Prooflike NGC, BHM-4439. 35mm. 23.99gm. By Messrs John Pinches Ltd. Struck in 9ct gold, hallmarked on reverse. A beautiful privately produced example of Elizabeth's gold coronation medal, with no official mintage being struck. For its relatively debased gold content this piece is deep yellow in color, its surfaces highly glossed in line with its coveted 'Prooflike' designation, a slight cameo contrast achieved through the frosted devices.
