Venice. Alvise Mocenigo IV silver Osella Anno XII (1774)-GMB MS65+ NGC, Paolucci II, 257. Obv. Lion of St. Mark facing, holding Gospel in paws. Rev. Four-line inscription, and date, within wreath. Argent-gray patina with a slight reddish tint. The obverse strike is bold, while the reverse has a soft strike on the first "I" of PRINCIPIS as is normal for this issue. The surfaces display only tiny marks and the fields are nicely prooflike. A stunning gem example and the only piece of this type certified by either NGC or PCGS. Very rare in this pristine condition.
