Republic copper Proof Pattern 1/4 Real 1836 PR64 Brown NGC, Guanajuato (?) mint, KM-Pn53. Scholar Ted Buttrey commented the following on the finer of the two Pablo Berger coins: "Although [this pattern] bears no mintmark, the eagle with concave wings marks it plainly as a product of the Mint of Guanajuato". An elusive Pattern issue whose special strike is brought to full fruition on the reverse eagle feather detailing, this detail surrounded by mahogany-toned surfaces revealing very little in the way of handling or distractions.
