João V gold 8 Escudos (Dobra or 12800 Reis) 1725 VF35 NGC, KM222, Fr-84. Very rare in any grade, the present offering would appear to be the only example of this date certified by either NGC or PCGS. Certainly a coin which saw moderate circulation, its devices exhibiting uniform wear and fields with handling marks; its surfaces, however, are clearly original and it has retained pleasing detail across the planchet. One of only a handful available to collectors, and highly desirable thus.
