LYDIAN KINGDOM. Croesus (561-546 BC). AV sixth-stater or hecte (9mm, 1.33 gm). NGC Choice MS★ 5/5 - 4/5. Sardes, "light" standard, ca. 550-546 BC. Confronted foreparts of lion on left and bull on right, both with extended foreleg / Two incuse square punches of unequal size, side by side, with irregular interior surfaces. Walburg group IV, 3. Berk 9.8. Superbly struck on satiny flan. Incredibly attractive in hand and certainly worthy of the star designation for superior eye appeal.
