Struck upon the remarriage of Karl Theodor to Maria Leopoldina of Austria, the present selection, with its bold portraits and shimmering fields, represents an item of considerable rarity, previously described by Gerhard Hirsch Nachfolger as "probably the only one known on the [market]".
