William III gold "Fine Work" 2 Guineas 1701 MS64 NGC, KM507, S-3457. A magnificent coin; the single highest graded example of the celebrated "Fine Work" 2 Guineas certified by either PCGS or NGC. This piece is superbly Prooflike with deep reflective fields, William's portrait perfectly rendered with a subdued, matte texture in contrast to the mirrors behind; splashes of blazing red tone float across the surface further bolstering the eye appeal. Markedly superior to the MS63 Millenia Collection specimen which achieved $23,000 hammer in 2008, and perhaps the finest of this type extant.
