A charismatic and popular private pattern piece melding several elements of traditional English coinage together; the whole coin is executed in the style of a Charles I Crown, yet with an Alfred the Great-era Londonia monogram and a Thomas Simon-esque 'S' mark (for Spink) below horseman.
