Autonomous 3-Piece Uncertified "Plain Edge" Mint Set 1991 Prooflike,

KM-X Unl. (as a set). Plain edge. An extremely rare mint set that simply should not exist. In 1991, the semi-autonomous government of Aland commissioned a private company to produce collector sets of a proposed coinage for the islands in two varieties--an edge lettered set struck on the first day of issue for registered Aland citizens, and a plain edge set that represented the actual coins meant for circulation. While the former has a reported mintage of 5,000 sets, the plain edge sets were produced in unknown numbers, and were never officially released due to obstructions by the Finnish government. Preserved here in the original mint folder, the set on offer appears virtually untouched and each of the coins immaculately Prooflike, if not outright Proof specimens. Perhaps the only such set remaining in existence.
