Republic 8 Soles 1860 PTS-FJ MS63 NGC, Potosi mint, KM138.6. A truly phenomenal grade for this condition-sensitive type, tied with only one other specimen at PCGS for the finest certified example. Beautifully lustrous with some slight irregularities in the flan, but hardly any serious marks. For comparison, we note that we sold an MS63-graded specimen from PCGS for $1880 in 2015 CICF sale.
