Haile Selassie I gold Pattern Mule Werk EE 1921 (1928) UNC Details (Edge Damage) NGC, Addis Ababa mint, KM-Pn8, Gill-RT8. Plain edge. Pairing an 1/8 Birr obverse with a 1/32 Birr reverse die. A very rare presentation issue that comes universally struck from older, rusty dies and which, according to Gill, can vary widely in weight. Seen here on a rather thick planchet, and reportedly given to dignitaries and friends of the emperor on his travels.
