Glasgow. Thistle Bank Grill Canceled Counterstamped 4 Shillings 9 Pence ND (1811) VF35 PCGS, KM-CC49, Manville-46 (this coin cited). Counterstamps on Mexico 8 Reales 1789 Mo-FM. The 4/9 stamp has been grill canceled on the obverse, the reverse still exhibiting the thistle mark which gives this series its name. Handsomely toned to a gunmetal gray, the countermarks very boldly applied; an interesting and popular type.
