ELYMAIS:LOT of 189 bronze drachm coins of the Kings of Elymais, a decade-long accumulation of coins including many varieties and types, a very interesting study group, average circulated quality, retail value $3000, lot of 189 coins. Elymais struck coins from circa 150 BC until their defeat by the Sasanians in AD 227. Most coins show an anchor, perhaps recalling their association with the Seleukid Empire, and the more ancient star-in-crescent symbol of the Achaemenids.
