MUGHAL:LOT of 7 ZODIAC imitations in silver, derived from the standard zodiac mohurs of Jahangir, from the late 19th or first half of the 20th century, all with the mint name and dates as indicated for each piece: Aries (ram) Agra AH1030 year 15; Gemini (twins) Ahmadabad 1027 with no regnal year; Leo (lion) Agra 1028 year 14; Pisces (fish) Agra 1028 no regnal year; Scorpio (scorpion) 1033 year 18; Taurus (bull) Ahmadabad 1027 no regnal year; and Virgo (maiden) Agra 1028 year 13; all in choice EF condition or better; retail value $700, lot of 7 pieces. These appear to be later than the usual Rawalpindi imitations, perhaps from the 1920s or slightly later, but nonetheless of high quality and very attractive.
