UPDATED INFORMATION – The mint is Tabariya, and two examples of this rare type appeared in our auction #10, Lots 184 and 185, on which the mint name was clear at the left of the obverse. The reverse legends remain uncertain. Also published by Charlie Karukstis, in ONS Journal #193 (2007), pp. 40-42. Goodwin knows of 5 specimens of this rare type (including this one), all from the same pair of dies.
