NUMAYRID: Qawâm b. Waththab, before 1040, BI dirham (1.24g), NM, ND, A-771Q, Heidemann-, citing the Fatimid caliph al-Zahir (1021-1036), unpublished and the first known coin of the Numayrid ruler Qawâm, Fine, RRRR. The third line of the obverse legend has been tentative read as "al-amirayn wa'l-sayyidin" for "the two amirs and the two sayyidas", then the 2 brothers "shabib wa qawâm", sons of Waththab who ruled together in Harran and appear to have briefly had some arrangement was the 'Alawi Sayyids, who ruled at al-Raqqa at this time. A coin of great historical importance!
