JASTANID: Manadhir b. Jastan, 948-972, AV dinar (3.49g), al-Rudbar, AH361, A-A1489, citing the caliph al-Muti', bold strike, apparently the first Jastanid gold dinar offered at auction since AH359 dinar in the Sotheby's auction 20 April 1983 (Lot 87), superb strike, choice VF to EF, RRRR. The Jastanids were a minor dynasty in northern Iran, with their capital at Rudbar, a city heavily destroyed by an earthquake in 1990.
