ILKHAN: Ghazan Mahmud, 1295-1304, AR dirham (1.95g), Nishapur, AH695 (in numerals), A-2168B, pre-reform, with phrase Allah a'lâ ("God is supreme") above the ruler's name, cited as simply ghazan khan with the additional title padshah islam, mint name on both sides, somewhat harshly cleaned, VF, RRR, ex Christian Rasmussen Collection. The various pre-reform silver coins of Ghazan Mahmud struck at the eastern mints are all at least very rare, except for the Astarabad type with hawk & sun, which is only moderately rare.
