CHILE. 8 Reales, 1812-So FJ. Santiago Mint. Ferdinand VII. NGC AU Details--Obverse Scratched.
KM-80; FC-53; EL-70; Cal-Type-165 # 628. Mintage: 307,000. A very lightly circulated example with a dark base of tone in the obverse fields and pleasant iridescent highlights toward the legends. The reverse, a bit lighter, displays colorful orange to lilac color over gleaming surfaces. A set of faintly visible thin scratches appear behind Ferdinand VII's bust and are the reason for the assigned 'details' grade.
