10.38 gms. Fr-978; J&F-2162; Forschner-82.2. Commemorating the coronation of Leopold I as Holy Roman Emperor. Obverse: CONSILIO ET INDVSTRIA, hands bearing scepter (on left) and sword (on right) emerging from the clouds; crowned globe below; radiant Divine Eye above; Reverse: LEOPOLDVS / HVNG ET BOH REX / CORON IN REGEM / ROMANORVM / I AVGVSTI / MDCLVIII in six lines; above, two cherubim bearing crown, one holding scepter; all within wreath. An impressive and fairly RARE large gold issue, this specimen exhibits some evidence of use as a jewelry piece, but nevertheless offers a solid strike and little actual wear or handling. Rather handsome and pleasing.
