GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Sovereign, ND (1547-51). London Mint. Edward VI. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield.
6.10 gms. S-2393; N-1865; Fr-174. Struck in the name of Henry VIII. Obverse: Edward seated facing on throne, holding orb and lis-tipped scepter; Tudor rose below; Reverse: Crowned coat-of-arms, with lion and dragon as supporters; grapple below. A pleasing early issue for the young Edward, the only male heir of the recently deceased Henry VIII. In order to convey the majesty of the father, this type still bears the name of Henry, though depicting Edward seated on the throne. Difficult to encounter finer, this is the finest graded in the PCGS census.

Estimate: $1800.00- $2400.00
