GREAT BRITAIN. George III -- American Indian Peace Silver Medal, ND (ca. 1770 or later). EXTREMELY FINE.
76.7mm; 107.38 gms / 1,658.3 grains. Eimer-736a; Betts-435. Obverse: GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA, armored and garlanded bust right; Reverse: Crowned coat-of-arms, with lion and unicorn as supporters. A few light scratches are present on the obverse, along with some otherwise scattered minor marks throughout and some typical cleaning, but an otherwise highly presentable example with original decorative suspension loop attached. A VERY RARE large size medal awarded to North American Indian Chiefs as an act of good will.
