24.13 gms. cf.KM-101.3 (for basic type); cf.JNDA-09-57 (for basic type). A curious counterfeit which not only exhibits false Japanese countermarks which are sometimes found on genuine host coins, the host coin here is also a poorly made falsehood being cast base metal and having a fictitious mintmark and assayers letter combination. The metal composition consists of the following elements Cu-57.97%, Ag-17.23%, Sb-11.76%, Pb-11.57% as well as trace elements of Sn, Y and Ni. For the specialist collector who wishes to further study counterfeit punches. Lightly toned with areas of slate patina amongst the devices and the protected areas.
