MEXICO. Assortment of Contemporary Counterfeits (10 pieces), ND (ca. 1824 to 1901). Grade Range: VERY GOOD to EXTREMELY FINE.
An academic assortment of contemporary circulating counterfeits. Several are quite interesting while others are mundane. Lot does include a mid-20th Century cast copy of an 1844-GCMP noted for accuracy. Some have chopmarks, scratches, have been hollowed, silver plated and/or have other defects. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. Most exhibit are toned to one degree or another, some are quite attractive and charming. A neat gathering with some very interesting pieces certain to pique the interest of circulating counterfeit collectors.

4) Cast 8 Reales, 1844-GCMP. 26.03 gms. cf.DP-Gc01 (for basic type). With PCGS "Modern Counterfeit" ticket

5-7) Contemporary Counterfeit 8 Reales struck in copper or brass.

8-9) Hollowed out 8 Reales. One only a shell remains while the other has retained the thieves lead.

10) Hollowed out Peso, 1901-MoAM. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS.
