KM-host not listed; Gomes-Jo.10.01; Vaz-not listed; Azevedo-pg. 28, not listed. Issued by decree of 1760. Incuse "M" countermark applied to he obverse of a 1755-R Brazil 600 Reis J Series of Jose. VERY RARE host coin and denomination, one of only five confirmed survivors for this host type. Countermark deeply applied centered at the base of the "J" just about the date. Rich attractive slate patina with a lovely iridescent sheen that pops out when tilted in the light.
