KM-B139; Basso-43; cf.PNM#6-160; cf.PNM#16-348; Cacho-Type V; Gil-Crown variety 5-4-1-II (1835)(reverse stamp). Type VI countermark crowned Y.II. within circle. Issued by Decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837, by Decree of 1 February 1836. On an 1813-LIMAEJP Peru Bust 8 Reales. RARE with countermark over both side of perforation. Countermarks well struck over perforation. Moderate even wear with small unobtrusive test cut at 6 o'clock and dark attractive toning.

It is interesting to note is that the reverse Y.II. countermark is shared by the 1833-LIMA Peru Republic 8 Reales which bears both a Y.II. over only one side of the hole combined with a previous F.7.0. countermark. While the obverse Y.II. countermark is shared with 1831-LIMA Peru Republic 8 Reales also in this sale appearing only on the reverse. We have recorded roughly 40 examples with only countermarks over both sides of the perforation.
