Fr-41; Munt-8; Berman-558. Obverse: IVLIVS II PONT MAX, papal coat-of-arms; Reverse: SANCTVS PETRVS ALMA ROMA, St. Peter seated left in boat, casting fishing net into the sea. A rather difficult piece to encounter, especially in such an attractive and alluring grade as the present example. A good deal of luster remains on this boldly struck specimen from Pope Julius II--a patron of Michelangelo, Bramante, and Raphael.
