26.75 gms. Fr-6; KM-57.1. A rather captivating issue, this choice cob features a fairly bold central strike along with a readable date in the legend and a sharp mintmark to the side of the shield. Little evidence of sea-salvaging is noted for this large size treasure piece, part of the group recovered from the 1715 Plate Fleet.
Ex: 1715 Plate Fleet shipwreck, sunk on 31 July 1715 off the coast of what is now Vero Beach, Florida.
