NETHERLANDS. Netherlands - Germany. Holland. Ducat, ND (1573-74). Dutch Revolt Against Spain. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, EF Details Gold Shield; Countermark: EF Details.
Fr-1991 (for host coin); KM-MB-150 (for host coin). Rampant lion left within beaded oval boarder countermark applied to the obverse of a 1567 Heidelberg mint Pfalz-Simmern Ducat of Friedrich III (1557-76). An EXTREMELY RARE countermark host coin combination of a rare issue, probably UNIQUE. The countermark is somewhat uneven, though with a bold lion. Evidence of being cleaned long ago now lightly toned. An interesting issue with lots of character and cross over appeal.

Estimate: $7000.00- $10000.00
