PHILIPPINES. Proof Set (7 Pieces), 1903. Philadelphia Mint. All PCGS Gold Shield Certified.
KM-PS1. Mintage: 2,558 sets. A well matched and attractive GEM quality complete proof set. The silver coins have matching mottled iridescent toning displaying a plethora of hues from cobalt to heather-grey with splashes of russet over the flashy surfaces. The 5 Centavos is bright, lustrous and very attractive with a thin veneer of tone, a minor planchet irregularity is noted on the obverse in the right field running at an upward angle from about 3 to 12. The copper issues quite pleasing to the eye with plenty of original mint red and nice cartwheel luster, though the reverse of the 1/2 Centavo is evenly toned displaying a pine green sheen in the open areas coupled with mottled berry blue and brick colors in the peripheral legends. Overall a handsome set with good eye appeal certain to see spirited bidding.
