GREENLAND. Danish Administration. 1 Rigsdaler, 1803. P-A4. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
Very scarce first emission of paper currency on Greenland. Issued by Danish Royal Government for trade at the colony of Julianahaab. This 1 Rigsdaler is highest denomination of the series. Since it is an early type, it's signed in manuscript from the department of "Kongelige Grønlandske Handel, Kjøbenhavn". With low serial number #80. According to the Danish Sieg's Catalog signature is known and also illustrated.

These notes are only show with at most two digit serial numbers. The high condition of this Greenland note "Choice Very Fine 35" should certainly receive significant attention as it's the only ever graded by PMG. For accuracy we have to mention PMG comments "Stains." The high rarity of this note makes it a cornerstone in any of the finest collections of Greenland banknotes. In 2012 January NYINC Auction Stack's Bowers Galleries sold serial number #2 of this definitely rare note, and it hammered for $25.000. We are starting this note at a fraction of that making it a phenomenal opportunity for collectors.

Estimate: $10000.00- $15000.00
