KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 BC. AR Drachm (17mm, 4.28 g, 1h). Magnesia mint. Struck under Menander, circa 325-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, head of ram left. Price –; Hersh, Additions 29 = C. Hersh & H. Troxell, "A 1993 Hoard of Alexander Drachms" in AJN 5-6 (1993-4), pl. 5, 2.1d (same dies). Lightly toned, a little off center, struck with worn obverse die. Near EF. Very rare.
