RIC-34 (Caligula). Obverse: Nero and Drusus on horses rearing right; Reverse: Large S C. Deep black-brown, problem free surfaces.

This type was a commemorative issue struck to honor the adopted grandsons and heirs of Tiberius, Nero and Drusus. The boys died in exile in A.D. 31 and 33, respectively, never to succeed to throne. Instead, their younger brother Caligula was similarly adopted by Tiberius, and he became emperor in A.D. 37.
