BOLIVIA. Gold Medallic Escudo, 1839. Potosi Mint. Republic. NCS VF Details--Mount Removed.
17.8mm; 3.35 gms. Fonrobert-9524. Commemorating the granting of the new constitution by Velasco. Obverse: Angel standing right, holding Phrygian cap on pole; slain lion to left; Reverse: Phoenix rising from the flames. Though this interesting and RARE piece exhibits prior use as a jewelry piece, it nevertheless offers an exceptionally pleasing design. Lightly handled with some scattered marks.
