Krishna Raja Wodeyar III was the 22nd Maharaja of Mysore and ruled for nearly seventy years. He was a big proponent of literature, language and the arts specifically music. The kingdom of Mysore saw positive cultural growth under his reign. He was a collector, inventor and expert board game player and is credited for reviving the game of Ganjifa.
