3.59 gms. KM-420.1; Gomes-J4.113.10/11. Type I Countermark, denomination "60" with rectangle boarder. Issued by decree of 3 February 1642. Countermark applied to reverse of an undated Lisbon mint 1/2 Tostao (50 Reis) of either Philip II or III. The countermark is slight unevenly applied, but fully struck up and bold. An attractive example with rich old envelope tone.
