RUSSIA. Unknown Small Breast Star in Silver and Gold. EXTREMELY FINE.
40 x 49 mm. 16.8 gms. Eight-point multi-rayed star with oval blue central medallion superimposed with a white cross pattee with Cyrillic letters between the arms and surrounded by a laurel wreath. Oval-framed 84 zolotniks (.875) fineness mark of the 1908 to 1927 period on reverse, along with ЭДУАРДЪ (EDUARD) and a further uncertain two-element stamp ending with the letter Л. Additionally, the central rays to the left and right are each marked with an additional left-facing female head counterstamp. We are unsure what organization used this star, but it is known that many military units used such decorations - certainly this is an item worthy of further research.
Estimate: $200.00- $500.00
