Arab-Byzantine, Umayyad Caliphate Æ 40 Nummi. Dimashq (Damascus) mint(?), circa AD 642-705. Crowned imperial figure standing facing, holding long cross, AK to left, bird (falcon?) to right above star / Large M topped with cross; ornaments to each side, pellets beneath M, K K(inverted) in exergue. Cf. DOCAB 35-39 (bird to left on obv., unrecorded reverse type with unseen mintmark); cf. SICA 566-568 (same). 3.78g, 20mm, 9h.
