The magistrate Petraios, who was strategos of the Thessalian League, was the son of Themistogenes of Gyrton, and was counted by Julius Caesar (Commentarii de Bello Civili, III.35) as a steadfast supporter, later executed by Brutus in 44 BC (Cicero, Philippics XIII.33).
