ATTICA, Athens. Circa 353-294 BC. AR Tetradrachm (22mm, 17.18 g, 8h). Contemporary imitation. Helmeted head of Athena right, with profile eye and pi-style palmette / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind. CNG E-427, lot 194 (same dies), otherwise unpublished. For prototype, cf. HGC 4, 1599. Lightly toned, some earthen deposits, compact flan. VF. High quality imitation.

The thick and compact flan suggest an eastern origin for this imitation, possibly as far as Baktria or northern India.
