Japan, Empire. Meiji CU 50 Sen Pattern Trial Strike(?). Dated year 3/4 = 1870-71. Dragon right, head reverted, within beaded border; Japanese legend around / Stylised rising sun, with rays emitted from lined circular centre, within beaded border; wreath of flowering plants below, chrysanthemum between two paulownia flowers above, reeded edge. Cf. KM Y4 (same dies). 9.07g, 32mm, 1h.
